BUILDING A COMMUNITY

The children who live in boarding school together spend every waking minute with each other, they see each other, and that helps them in forming a powerful bond, they form a bond with other individuals and even teachers; individuals coming from all different backgrounds tend to interact with each other and form a bond.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Boarding schools help provide their students with excellent network opportunities; after graduating, they can get jobs as the school helps them out. Individuals in boarding schools get jobs quickly as they are known to be disciplined, which leads them on.

SENSE OF RESPONSIBILITY

Many parents decide to send their children to boarding schools to teach them responsibility; when children live away from their homes and are told to do all of their work by themselves, they learn a sense of responsibility as they have to do everything alone with no help, they have to manage their belongings which teaches them responsibility, Boarding schools also follow a strict curriculum and rules that the children learn to follow.

MORE INDEPENDENT

Like my earlier point mentioned, when children live away from their parents they have to do everything on their own from doing their laundry to cleaning their room, this all makes them more independent and even helps them out for the future.

MAKE THEIR OWN DECISIONS

Children in boarding schools tend to make their own decisions, as they don’t have their parents around with them at all times; boarding schools teach them to make their small decisions at a young age to make the harder ones.

STUDENTS FROM DIVERSE BACKGROUNDS

Children meet people from different and diverse backgrounds, interacting with people from different religions helps them develop an open mind and learn about different cultures and traditions.

DISADVANTAGES

EXPENSIVE

The tuition fee of a boarding school might be high; many families might struggle to pay such a high fee.

BEING AWAY FROM FAMILY

Children living in boarding schools might not be able to have a good bond with their families as they are not able to see them and spend time with them; this is a significant disadvantage as children need their parents, especially at that young age, being away from their families might have some harmful effects on them in the future, they might also feel a sense of un belonging when they move back home.

PRESSURE ON CHILDREN

Boarding schools tend to follow stringent rules, and even though it might teach children to discipline, it also damages their mental health in many; some children aren’t able to cope with it and might struggle a lot.

HARD FOR THE FAMILIES

Families might have a hard time living away from their children, and they might feel as if they cannot connect with their children more.

DIFFICULT TO MEET PEOPLE OUTSIDE OF BOARDING SCHOOL

Individuals in boarding schools might have a hard time meeting and getting along with children outside the premise of their boarding, so in return, they might not be able to make more friends.

CONCLUSION

Boarding schools have both advantages and disadvantages, for some individuals, boarding school can be the best thing that happened to them, and for others, it might be the total opposite it totally on everyone’s personal experience, but it is true that over the years the whole culture of sending children to boarding school has declined.
